Landing Page Design Cost and Designer Prices 2026

· Converto

Short answer: a landing page design typically costs $500 to $2,000 from a freelancer and $2,000 to $10,000 from an agency, while doing it yourself on a page builder runs about $40 to $200 a month. Those are the ranges published by Unbounce and Linear Design, and the two sources overlap more than they agree: a basic page can be quoted at a few hundred dollars by one designer and several thousand by another. What moves the price is how much of copy, conversion work and integrations the quote includes, not the design itself.

Price ranges come from Unbounce’s guide to landing page costs (updated September 2024) and Linear Design’s landing page design cost guide (updated May 2026), read October 23, 2026. Both companies sell landing page software or landing page design, so treat the numbers as asking prices, not a survey. Converto prices are from our own pricing page.

Landing page design cost at a glance

Nobody audits these figures, and each source sells something on the same page, so every range is listed with where it came from.

RoutePublished priceSourceWhat is usually included
Page builder, do it yourself$40 to $200 a month; about $75 to $100 for the essentialsUnbounceTemplates, hosting, forms; you write and design the page
Page builder, do it yourself$19 to $399 a month depending on platformLinear DesignSame, across a wider set of builders
Freelance designer$50 to $1,000 per pageUnbounceDesign and build; copy and tracking often extra
Freelance designer$500 to $2,000 per page; $500 to $1,000 for a basic page; $25 to $100 an hourLinear DesignDesign and build, sometimes basic copy
Web design agency$500 to $3,000 per page, up to about $5,000 at an experienced boutique agencyUnbounceDesign, build, usually copy and one revision round
Web design agency$2,000 to $10,000 or more for bespoke workLinear DesignResearch, copy, design, build, analytics and testing setup

Read the table by row pairs. The two sources roughly agree on the builder route, disagree by a factor of two or more on freelancers, and disagree by more than that on agencies. The difference is mostly scope: an agency quote at $8,000 usually includes research, copywriting, analytics setup and a testing plan, while a freelancer quote at $600 often means you hand over the copy and the designer lays it out.

How much does a landing page cost?

For most US businesses, a single professionally designed landing page costs between $500 and $5,000, and the middle of that range, roughly $1,000 to $3,000, buys a custom design with copy from an experienced freelancer or a small agency. Below $500 you are usually buying a template filled in with your text. Above $5,000 you are buying research, strategy and testing as well as the page.

The monthly cost of running the page sits on top. A builder subscription, a form or CRM integration, and any testing or analytics tools all bill every month whether the page sells or not. Over a year, a $1,500 page on a $100 a month builder is a $2,700 page.

How much should a simple landing page cost?

A simple landing page (one offer, one form or button, five or six sections, copy you supply) should cost roughly $300 to $1,000 from a competent freelancer. Linear Design puts a basic page at $50 to $500 and a basic freelance page at $500 to $1,000; Unbounce’s freelancer range starts at $50. If a quote for a simple page is over $2,000, ask what is in it beyond design: copywriting, custom illustrations, integrations or a testing plan can each justify the difference, but you should know which one you are buying.

What pushes a landing page quote up

  • Copywriting. The single largest swing in most quotes. A designer laying out your copy and a team writing it from a discovery call are different jobs at different prices.
  • Custom design versus a template. A designed-from-scratch page with custom illustrations or photography costs several times a customized template.
  • Integrations. Connecting forms to a CRM, a booking tool, a payment page or an email platform adds hours, and debugging them adds more.
  • Revisions. Fixed-price quotes usually include one or two rounds. Extra rounds are billed hourly, and that is where projects grow.
  • Conversion work. Research, message testing, analytics setup and an A/B testing plan are what separate a $2,000 agency page from a $10,000 one.
  • Rush timelines. A page needed for a launch next week costs more than the same page in four weeks.

Freelancer, agency or page builder

RouteTypical costTurnaroundBest forMain risk
Page builder, yourself$40 to $200 a monthDaysFounders and marketers who can write the copy and want controlA page that looks finished but carries the template’s structure and none of the conversion work
Freelance designer$500 to $2,000 a pageOne to three weeksA clear offer with copy ready, needing a professional layoutQuality varies widely; copy and tracking often fall back on you
Agency$2,000 to $10,000+ a pageThree to eight weeksA new offer or campaign with budget for research, copy and testingPaying for testing your traffic cannot support

The testing risk is worth spelling out. Detecting a 10 percent relative lift on a page converting at 2 percent takes about 81,000 visitors per variation at 95 percent confidence and 80 percent power; the arithmetic is in A/B test sample size. If your page gets a few thousand visits a month, an agency’s testing plan will not reach an answer, and you are paying for a promise the traffic cannot keep.

Before you pay for a new design, check whether design is the problem

Most people price a new landing page because the current one does not convert. That is the moment a redesign is most likely to be the wrong purchase. Low conversion on an existing page is usually caused by a handful of specific, visible problems: a headline that describes the product instead of the result, the first button below the first screen on a phone, a form asking for eight fields when the sale needs three, a header full of links that lead off the page, a hero image that takes four seconds to load. A new design fixes those only if the designer happens to notice them, and a beautiful page can repeat every one.

An audit finds them first. Paste the live page into the landing page audit and Converto scores copy, calls to action, layout, speed and AI-readability, ranks each problem by what it costs, and writes replacement headlines and button copy you can paste in. Plans start from $29 a month billed yearly, which is less than one hour of the cheapest freelancer in the table above. Three outcomes are possible:

  • The problems are structural and fixable in your builder. Fix them yourself and skip the redesign.
  • The problems are in the copy. You need a copywriter more than a designer; conversion copywriter vs copy audit tool covers when that is worth paying for.
  • The page really needs rebuilding. Hire the designer, and hand over the audit as the brief. A designer who starts from a ranked list of what is broken quotes more accurately and wastes fewer revision rounds.

What an audit will not tell you is just as important. It says nothing about whether your offer or your price is right, it cannot judge the quality of the traffic you send, and it cannot prove that a change caused a sale. If the page is technically sound and still does not convert, the problem is upstream of the design, and no designer at any price fixes it.

What to put in a landing page design brief

  • The one action the page exists for. Book a demo, start a trial, buy, call. One.
  • Where the traffic comes from. A Google Ads click, a launch email and a LinkedIn post need different first screens. The ad or email that sends people should be in the brief, so the page matches it.
  • Who writes the copy. Decide before asking for quotes, or you will compare a $600 layout quote with a $4,000 copy-and-design quote as if they were the same job.
  • The audit of the current page, if one exists, so the designer knows what to fix rather than guess.
  • Integrations and tracking. Which form, CRM, calendar or checkout the page connects to, and which conversion event must fire.
  • Revision rounds and ownership. How many rounds are included, and that the page is built in your account, not the designer’s.

If you are not sure whether you need a designer, a copywriter or a conversion specialist, describing the problem in one paragraph and getting a consultant matched to the exact problem is a faster way to find out than collecting three quotes for the wrong job.

How landing page design cost compares with the alternatives

A new landing page is one of three purchases people weigh when a page underperforms. A full site rebuild is the largest; website redesign cost sets out the $10,000 to $40,000 small business range and when it is worth it. Paying someone to improve the existing page instead of replacing it sits in between; landing page optimization services cost covers project fees, retainers and hourly rates. And if the page lives on a course platform, the platform guides cover where each fix is made, for example Thinkific sales page optimization and Kajabi sales page optimization.

The cheapest order is the same in every case: audit the page you have, fix what the audit finds, measure for a few weeks, and only then pay for design work aimed at what is still wrong.
